Duties

Help
  • You will serve as Deputy N6 for NIWDC and provide oversight for all NIWDC and subordinate command N6 (information systems/information technology) functions.
  • You will provide technical leadership in the areas of project management, exercising responsibility for systematic review of requirements and problem definition preceding design of information systems solutions.
  • You will identify ways to consolidate and facilitate systems that extend across organizational and functional lines.
  • You will recommend organizational responsibilities and redesign of work units and workflow to establish effective and efficient system.
  • You will plan and assign work to subordinates determining work schedules, priorities, evaluate work performance and determine training needs.
  • You will review job descriptions of subordinates, participate in reviewing and recommend improvements of work methods, organizational features, and the structuring of positions.
  • You will identify requirements, plan, organize and distribute authorized personnel resources, prepare and present justification for organization structure, manpower and personnel requirements to accomplish assigned mission and functions.
  • You will coordinate the identification, tracking, and qualifications of Cyber IT/CSWF personnel on the NIWDC staff.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position work role SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST proficiency level ADVANCED the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Serve as the Deputy N6 for NWDC and provide oversight for all NWDC and subordinate command N6 (Information Systems/Information Technology) functions.
  • Serve as principal advisor to the Commander NIWDC on all aspects of Communications and Computer and InformationTechnologies as they apply to the NIWDC enterprise's missions, functions, tasks and policy related matters.
  • Experience providing, obtaining, managing and reviewing command actions related to the overall Cyber Security, Computer and Information Technology, Information Assurance and Asset Management requirements.
  • Experience developing and implementing Cyber Security, Computer and Information Technology policy, oversight and concepts for NIWDC and subordinate commands.
  • Experience coordinating with command N6 leads across the enterprise to resolve conventional information management problems, issues, questions or situations.
  • Experience recommending actions based upon interpretation of existing automation and information management regulations and practices.
  • Serve as the senior NIWDC Headquarters technician and technical advisor on Command, Control, Communications and Computers/Information Technologies related matters.
  • Experience directly managing and supervising a team of specialists performing Information System functions.
  • Experience managing NIWDC enterprise's Information Security.
  • Experience collaborating and integrating information system security, reviewing certification and accreditation documentation to ensure that it is compliant with standards, policy, and regulations.
  • Experience reviewing risk assessments and analyzing the impact of potential vulnerabilities.
  • Serve as Cyber Security Work Force ((CSWF) Manager directly for the NWDC Staff and oversight of the NWDC enterprise program.
  • Experience managing and developing annual financial budget portfolio for the NIWDC enterprise.

  4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
