About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. This position is located at the U.S. Cyber Command, Fort Meade, Maryland.
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Executive Director of Operations, and as the principal senior cyberspace operations advisor to the Director of Operations (J3) in the Cyber National Mission Force Headquarters (CNMFHQ).
Serve as a supervisor, including planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over non-supervisory employees assigned to the CNMF Operations Directorate (CNMF J3).
Serves as the principal expert and organizational continuity on the conduct of operations in support of the CNMF mission. Oversees all phases of the CNMF J3’s activities and work.
Responsible for decisions that have a direct and substantial impact on the management of cyber policy, planning, and resourcing encompassing CNMF operations.
Provide direction for cyberspace operations (CO), strategic theater engagement, and development of strategic policy and guidance, as well as for anticipating and synchronizing cyberspace activities for the CNMF.
Provide continuous supervision and direction on all facets of CNMF operations, including planning, command and control, fires, mission management, and enabling partnerships.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
The incumbent may be recalled to duty, may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays, and may be required to work overtime.
Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military and/or commercial aircraft up to 25% of time.
The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET SCI clearance as a condition of employment and must complete a counterintelligence scope polygraph exam.
This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. The incumbent is required to pass urinalysis testing prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
The incumbent must meet NSA personnel security requirements outlined in NSA/CSS Policy 5-1.
This position is designated mission /emergency essential. Employees required to remain on duty or report to work regardless of any general announcement.
The incumbent may be required to serve a supervisory probationary period.
