Duties

Help
  • You will perform day-to-day management of assigned technical work across all aircraft systems.
  • You will conduct engineering technical analyses, engineering investigations, economic analyses and support services for directing senior engineers.
  • You will plan individual work to be accomplished, advise on barriers and provide proposed technical solutions.
  • You will prioritize individual efforts within senior engineering guidance.
  • You will provide technically accurate and on-time completion of associated products and services.
  • You will prepare correspondence, technical reports, and instructions for submittal to senior engineers, other activities and contractors as may be required to answer inquiries, relay or request information, and establish work assignments.
  • You will interface with external stakeholders such as PMA, TYCOM and Fleet leadership.

  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Employing aerospace and mechanical engineering principles, (i.e., engineering products and services), w/regards to the resolution of maintenance and design problems with the assigned Propulsion and Power program;
  • Reading end interpreting engineering drawings, system drawings or schematics and technically written specifications and instructions;
  • Applying the appropriate assessment protocol / procedures to exercise appropriate, adopt and/or make modification of standard guides and precedents since they are not always applicable to the complexities that are encountered in assignments; AND
  • Preparing correspondence, technical reports, and instructions for submittal to senior engineers, other activities and contractors as may be required to answer inquiries, relay or request information, and establish work assignments.

PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation.

Preference applicants will be placed at the highest grade for which they have applied and are determined Best Qualified (BQ). A BQ military spouse possesses knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies comparable to others who meet the competitive referral criteria for the specific position.
