Duties

Help
  • You will serve as an Information Technology (IT) Specialist Systems Administration (SYSADMIN) focusing on the administration and support for Command and Control, Communication, Computer and Intelligence (C4I) Systems.
  • You will responsible for establishing and maintaining coordination with Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM), Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity (MCTSSA), Marine Corps Cyberspace Command (MCCOG) / Program Management (PM).
  • You will maintain military tactical systems and associated workstations by installing, configuring, and troubleshooting each respective system in accordance with supporting technical documentation.
  • You will monitor the operation systems functions of Joint, United States Marine Corps (USMC), and Coalition systems to support the Integration of Joint Fire, Intel, and common operating picture (COP) to meet mission objectives during exercises.
  • You will respond to system problems and implements solutions by diagnosing and isolating problems with system, user action, software, or communications interfaces.
  • You will ensure the rigorous application of information assurance policies, principles, and practices for Combat Operations Center (COC) administrative support is followed in the delivery of COC services.
  • You will provide authoritative technical input on decisions concerning developmental and operational environment at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center (MCAGCC), Twentynine Palms, CA.
  • You will advise users on characteristics of systems and applications software and setup requirements.
  • You will during an exercise, have additional responsibility to simultaneously act as a customer support technician and also assist in coordinating C4I system exercise planning, support and operations in either garrison or deployed sites.
  • You will system administration and network for all C41 systems including, but not limited to: Intel Analysis Systems (IAS), Tactical Communication Systems (TCS), Global Command and Control System (GCCS). Command and Client Workstations.
  • You will provide subject matter expertise, feedback, and input to program managers for the C4I systems.

  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role (Information Assurance Manager, proficiency level II the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing support for systems software installation, maintenance, and security; Installing new software, administering security procedures, ensuring system back-ups and monitoring system performance; Diagnosing IT problems and implementing solutions; and Maintaing a documented inventory of IT assets including hardware, software, and licensing.

Additional information

This position is available for situational telework only, including emergency and OPM prescribed "unscheduled telework" (i.e. roads closed due to weather conditions) and based upon permission of the Supervisor.

This work is primarily sedentary, but requires standing, walking, driving, climbing stairs, and performing duties in a tactical environment during field test, and exercises. May be required to lift computer components weighing up to 40 lbs.

You may be required to travel for work approximately 20% of the time.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
