Duties

Help

The incumbent will perform a combination of routine, multiple, and varying assignments under the general direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional. Applies experience and detailed knowledge of various administrative/management services to plan and accomplish assignments and execute the full range of administrative functions, implementing the organization's administrative programs, policies and procedures.

Typical assignments may include: collecting and analyzing data/information; conducting research; applying policies and procedures; identifying problems; and working with higher level and lower-level professionals in day-to-day operations.

Uses various office automation software programs, databases, spreadsheets, etc. Initiates personnel actions into the Federal Personnel/ Payroll System (FPPS), which includes MPP announcements and administrative actions. Collects and analyzes data and conducts research. Responsible for maintaining KSN site. Maintains internal reports on personnel statistics such as on-board numbers and hiring projections.

Conducts internal orientation for Engineering Services' new hires to include badging and providing assistance on standard office procedures. Handles special assignments of a confidential nature discretely, ensuring information and actions are accurate, timely, applicable, maintained on a need-to-know bases and security stored.

Serves as a liaison between ES and ATO Western Service Center Resource Management Group to accomplish assigned functions. Work is more involved in nature and requires a greater degree of independence in planning time and using assigned resources to accomplish tasks or small projects.

Contacts are primarily internal to the organizational unit, with a manager and other employees to share information, provide data and/or written analyses, and/or explain the statuses of assignments. May have contacts with customers and other external parties on routine matters such as gathering information, explaining regulations, etc.

Established policies/procedures provide guidance for most assignments, but allow some discretion for employee to select the most appropriate approach(es). Typically receives guidance on selecting approaches from a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional. Refers problems and work issues to a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional when guidelines are not available or applicable.

Work is typically reviewed during assignments and at completion to ensure timeliness, policy compliance, and alignment with the requirements of projects and/or other work activities.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-F or FG-5/7/9 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized experience is:

  • Experience compiling data and information for reporting;
  • Identifying problems and applying analytical skills toward resolution of organizational issues or concerns.

Education

Education substitution for FV-G Band: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR a combination of education and experience may be qualifying for this position. Education at the graduate level in an accredited college or university must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.

Foreign education must be evaluated by a private professional organization specializing in interpretation of foreign education credentials or an accredited US educational institution in terms of equivalency to a degree acquired at an American college or university. A copy of the evaluation results must be included, otherwise your foreign education will not be considered.
