The United States Space Force (USSF) in El Paso, TX is searching for a Security Administrator to support Operating Location, El Paso (NH-0080-03, GS-12/13 equivalent).

Description:
Mission: Space System Command (SSC) develops, acquires, equips and sustains lethal and resilient space capabilities to enhance joint lethality to protect the nation and its allied partners. Operating Location El Paso is strategically centered to capitalize on El Paso's vast manufacturing capability, logistics infrastructure, proximity to White Sands Missile Range and Space Port America, and academic resources and research efforts.
This is an opportunity for an energetic Security Specialist that is proactive and can work autonomously and cohesively with a team of support contractors. Operating Location El Paso has a unique mission to work with academia and non-traditional businesses to develop prototypes and transition them into production for commercial and government use. This requires extensive research that is conducted across the country and a need for classified space. As the Security Specialist, you will be universities, non-traditional businesses and the government build and maintain an ecosystem of SCIFs across the country.

Ideal Candidate:
Needs to be able to obtain and maintain approval to access the portfolio of Special Access Programs; Preferred to have Security Program Integration Professional Certification and Security Asset Protection Professional Certification or obtain within two years of hire; Preferred experience with going through TEMPEST and Physical SCIF accreditation; Experience engaging with senior and executive level leadership; fluent in ICD 705 policy.


Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of information, industrial, physical, and personnel security concepts, principals, and practices to plan and implement security programs in these areas.
2. Knowledge of required security training concepts, programs, procedures, and practices to assist managers in establishing and operating internal security programs.
3. Skill in developing, analyzing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for Kirtland SSC organizations.
4. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately.
5. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.

  • Must be a U.S Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret / SCI security clearance.
  • Safeguards classified or sensitive budget-related information and/or files.
  • May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
  • Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed “Unscheduled Telework”.
  • This position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications, whichever comes first.
  • Employee may be required to perform travel by military or commercial passenger aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignments.
  • PCS / Relocation funding is not authorized.
  • Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 20 days per year.
  • This position is part of the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP).
  • This position has been designated for drug testing. Incumbent is subject to random urinalysis testing as a condition of employment.
  • Security Program Integration Professional Certification (SPIPC) and Security Asset Protection Professional Certification (SAPPC) conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD
