This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Clubs at Randolph AFB.

This is a Flex category position with no guaranteed hours. Scheduled as needed. May work up to 40 hrs/wk. Employees appointed to a Flex category position are not eligible for benefits.

Moderately heavy physical effort is required. Heavy lifting occasionally 50 pounds or more; pushing and moving furniture; work from ladders.

Duties

Help

The purpose of this position is to perform the full range of custodial duties in an assigned area. Maintains a specified area in an orderly and clean manner. Vacuum cleans rugs, and draperies. Sweeps, mops, strips, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors using industrial type power equipment. Adjusts and changes buffers, brushes and other attachments on power equipment. Dusts, waxes, and polishes furniture. Dusts ledges and woodwork. Empties ashtrays and wastebaskets. Polishes doorknobs and other metal fixtures. Cleans glass partitions, inside and outside windows, using stepladders and extension ladders. Maintains restrooms in clean, orderly, and sanitary condition. Cleans, disinfects, and deodorizes, lavatories, urinals, and toilet bowls. Cleans, mirrors, and water fountains. Replaces deodorizers, toilet tissue, hand towels, and soap. Reports water leaks, clogged drains, and other conditions requiring maintenance to supervisor. Maintains supply of cleaning materials, and advises supervisor when more supplies are needed, or when equipment needs repair or replacement. Performs seasonal tasks as required; such as, applying ice control material to entrances of buildings, shoveling snow, picking up litter around buildings, mowing grass, and watering lawns around buildings. Performs other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience: Must know the proper uses of a variety of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions and how to remove different kinds of stains from a wide variety of surfaces. Must be able to clean and make adjustments to power cleaning equipment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1) Ability to properly use of cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
2) Ability to clean and make adjustments to powered cleaning equipment.
3) Ability to perform the full range of cleaning duties.
4) Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps.
5) Ability to continuously stand, bend, stoop, and reach for long periods of time.
6) Ability to occassionally lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Education

Please join our team in sunny San Antonio, TX. Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) is situated in San Antonio, (Bexar County), the seventh largest city and known as "Military City USA." Encompassing JBSA are Fort Sam Houston, Lackland AFB and Randolph AFB, three separate installations.

The mission of Fort Sam Houston, located northeast of downtown, is medical training and support and is home to San Antonio Military Medical Center.

The primary mission at Lackland AFB, located southwest of the city, is training: basic military, technical, English language and technical training in Spanish to allied countries.

Randolph AFB is located northeast of the city and houses several headquarters including Air Education & Training Command (AETC), Air Force Personnel Center (AFPC), and Air Force Headquarters Recruiting Services.
