Duties

Help
  • You will diagnose, locate, and repair malfunctions to the main operating mechanical components of large heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems (HVAC) such as compressors, cooling coils, air handlers, water control valves.
  • You will use trade tools and test equipment such as voltage, amperage, and ohm meters, electronic refrigerant leak detectors, temperature gauges, capacitors, and analyzers.
  • You may be required to perform Forklift operation.
  • You will analyze water for pH factor, acidity content, and total dissolved solids (TDS) and maintain the proper chemical levels in accordance with manufacturer's recommended levels.

  • You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to possess and maintain a current Refrigerant Recovery Certification (Universal).
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • You will frequently lift, carry, and handle tools and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: checking oil and refrigerant levels, piping, fittings, air filters, operation of fans, and control of air movement.
