Duties

Help
  • Serve as Chief of the Environmental Branch, responsible for the overall planning, programming and execution of the installation’s environmental programs.
  • Oversee environmental program activities and management decisions regarding cost, performance, and schedule.
  • Formulate short and long-range budgetary requirements based on current and projected mission requirements.
  • Assign work to subordinate personnel based on priorities, considering level of difficulty, function, and requirements of the assignment, and the capabilities of the employees.
  • Provide advice on the advancement of government and public interests, ensuring that government obligations are fully satisfied.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Applying Federal, State and local environmental laws, regulations and policies to ensure compliance; 2) Leading projects concerned with environmental/public health concerns; and 3) Conducting research and studies to develop operational improvements.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
