The United States Space Force (USSF) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OH is searching for a Space MASINT IT Specialist to support 4IAS/INZ (GG-2210-12).

Description:

The US Space Force is seeking versatile and proactive IT professionals to be the backbone of our technology operations. In this role, you are more than just tech support; you are the trusted partner ensuring our team has the secure, reliable, and powerful systems they need to succeed. If you are a natural problem-solver who enjoys a dynamic environment where you can protect critical information and directly contribute to the success of a vital national security mission, then this is the job for you. Your days will be a mix of hands-on support and strategic planning.


Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for candidates with proven experience, preferably 3+ years focused on DoD or Intelligence IT support working with classified networks. The ideal applicant should have a degree in computer science or information technology. A strong background should show a proficiency in enterprise environments, including data centers, network infrastructure, and cloud integration. You will need a solid foundation in cybersecurity best practices; CompTIA Security+ certification required. Working directly within the Space MASINT Flight, you will be a vital resource for tackling IT issues, administering servers and networks, and spearheading technology projects that directly support the mission.

- Maintain a wide array of communications circuits, links and nodes, ensuring seamless time-dominant MASINT data delivery/receipt from a multitude of space MASINT sensors
- Support sensor testing and data delivery during scheduled trial periods and upgrades; enabling validation and quality review of data, vital for sensor modernization
- Maintain large MASINT databases and repositories; enabling and performing data access and retrieval as required
- Develop and maintain scripts for automated MASINT data migration to appropriate networks and end points
- Routinely monitor various circuits to ensure uninterrupted MASINT data routing to appropriate exploitation tools
- Formulate optimal data delivery plans and schedules for new communication links and nodes; monitor and report on progress as requested from provider
- Perform regular status monitoring of unique MASINT tools, with ability to take corrective action and mitigate data corruption, enabling unimpeded MASINT exploitation and production
- Lead or assist with software deployment or migration to local servers, virtual machines, and cloud services, as appropriate, in support of internal foundational data exploitation and external space operations units
- Assist NSIC IT services for compliance with all IT security standards and protocols

  • Must be a U.S Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret /SCI security clearance.
  • Safeguards classified or sensitive budget-related information and/or files.
  • May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
  • Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed “Unscheduled Telework”.
  • This position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications, whichever comes first.
  • Employee may be required to perform travel by military or commercial passenger aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignments.
  • PCS/Incentive funding is not authorized.
  • This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.
  • Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): 15 days a year.
  • Incumbent will be subject to psychological screening/ polygraph testing as an inherent primary requirement of their position.

Qualifications

The 2210 series has an individual occupational requirement that must be met and can be viewed here. There is no Group Coverage Qualification Standard for this series.
