Duties

Help

Reports to the ECC Team Manager and National Operations Group Manager, and serves under direction of
the National Enterprise Operations Directorate. Oversees 24/7 continuous enterprise service level monitoring for critical NAS services and applications. Teams serve as primary focal point for NAS subscribers and consumers. They provide advance notification to consumers when an interruption could affect the delivery of the enterprise service and coordinate potential impact when a legacy or enterprise service/equipment is reported out of service, scheduled or unscheduled.

Maintains oversight and knowledge of the health of the enterprise services and the customers who use the services. Provides specific impact information to national operations organizations and customers regarding restoration and mitigation. Regularly reviews logs recorded and maintained by teams regarding consumer issues and anomalies. Reports status, trends, and impacts of NAS enterprise service events to higher level management. Collaborates extensively with the Enterprise Network Operations Team when Tier 2 expertise is required in order to address a difficult or high visibility issue. Maintains knowledge of network communications, and troubleshooting techniques within NAS Operational Ip environment in order to identify and assesses enterprise level events.

Remains knowledgeable of networking protocols and management utility tools in order to evaluate service degradations and recommend safeguards. Manages employees who are responsible for maintaining real-time awareness of end to end service performance by reporting on service interruptions tickets, troubleshooting calls/alarms, determining impacts of interruptions and performing fault isolation. Ensures the expert technical assistance required to identify
potential disruptions and coordinate outages and restorations with vendors and customers is provided accurately and timely with minimal impact to NAS operations. Reviews performance data/reports and identifies service improvement initiatives. Directs the work of subordinate employees. Sets priorities and deadlines, assigns tasks and responsibilities, establishes work schedules, approves leave, and ensures adequate shift coverage to effectively manage NAS
enterprise monitoring. Additionally, monitors and evaluates performance, coaches and develops staff, and manages conduct and discipline as appropriate.

Creates and maintains a supportive work environment that promotes collaboration and open communication between employees and management. Inspires, coaches, and guides staff members in accomplishing desired goals within a complex and changing environment. Promotes, supports, and participates in the FAA EEO Program. EEO issues are identified, resolved, and coordinated with EEO official as required. Defines, acquires, and allocates budget, staff and other resources necessary to accomplish the goals and/or objectives of the team. Participates in planning and executing organizational goals utilizing strategic planning and sound management principles in order to accomplish mission objectives. Duties directly impact NAS Operations.

To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I / FG/GS-13. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Specialized experience is:Experience with NAS service interdependencies, concepts, and functions, as well as the understanding of the global impact of enterprise events
