The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health, ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Heavy Mobile Equipment Repairer Leader without more than normal supervision. 1) Ensure duties are performed using proper safety practices and equipment; and 2) Perform Field Level Maintenance and repairs on heavy duty mobile equipment and vehicles such as road graders, conveyors, bulldozers, power shovels, heavy duty compressors, large generators, tractors, large trucks, tanks, tracked combat vehicles, cranes and accessory equipment. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort: May be required to work in tiring or uncomfortable positions for long periods. Work frequently requires climbing on top of equipment or crawling under equipment to work on the various components. Incumbent will frequently have to bend, reach, stretch, and crouch. Work is strenuous, often requiring the lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 50 pounds. Incumbent will also push, pull, and turn heavy parts and equipment. Moves heavier items with assistance of other workers.
Working Conditions: Works inside and outside. The incumbent is exposed to drafts, dirt, grease and vehicle fumes. Incumbent is exposed to some inclement weather such as rain, heat, snow, cold, and freezing temperatures; and may be required to work in muddy and wet or icy areas when outdoors. Subject to burns, scrapes, cuts, bruises, shocks and strain.
