This Supervisory Business and Administrative Management Specialist position is located in the United States Attorney's Office. The incumbent provides expert advice and guidance to management on administrative management, resource utilization, and acquisition planning, to ensure effective and efficient program operations.

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing Supervisory Business and Administrative Management Specialist support in the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of Massachusetts, located in Boston, Massachusetts, focusing in the areas of planning, directing, and coordinating administrative operations and procurement support activities for the district.

Typical work assignments will include:

  • Serves as an advisor to management officials, responsible for advising leadership on administrative management and procurement coordination and operational issues.
  • Coordinate with management official and program staff to plan and implement administrative initiatives that support strategic and operational objectives.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and administer a variety of programs, projects, and support activities directly impacting the effectiveness of the office.
  • Develop short- and long-range plans to ensure that office operations are conducted effectively and efficiently. Develop appropriate internal operating procedures based on impending changes to policy.

Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying:

To qualify at the GS-13 level, you must possess:

Specialized Experience:
At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service performing (obtained in either the public or private sectors) (3) of the (5) duties listed below:

  1. Analyzing, evaluating, or administering a variety of projects and administrative support activities directly impacting overall office operations;
  2. Preparing findings or recommendations to management to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness;
  3. Providing advice and assistance to staff in the development of procurement requests;
  4. Coordinating space planning activities and/or supporting renovation projects;
  5. Planning, directing, or coordinating administrative programs and projects such as resource allocation, adherence to timelines, and measurable performance outcomes.

TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level.
  • You must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted; recommended SF-50s include promotions and step increases (within grade increases).
