Duties

Help

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for the overall supervision and coordination of the Legal Administrative Specialists. Typical work assignments will include:

  • Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates by preparing schedules and adjusting priorities
  • Overseeing, monitoring, and reviewing the legal support work and serving as a technical expert.
  • Performing routine litigation support tasks necessary to prepare or manage electronic discovery, evidence, exhibits, and other electronically stored information relevant to investigations and casework, using a variety of methods and software applications.
  • Providing technical assistance to litigation teams presenting or filing electronic evidence or exhibits in civil or criminal legal proceedings. Create electronic versions of exhibits for court filings, depositions, hearings, or trials.

  • You must be a United States Citizen or National.
  • Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
  • You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
  • If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
  • If selected, you will be subject to the satisfactory completion of a one year supervisory or managerial probationary period unless this requirement has been met previously.
  • Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements upon the closing date of this announcement.

Qualifications

GS-11: To be eligible at the GS-11 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, as defined below: Specialized Experience, Education, OR a Combination of Education and Experience.

Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as assigns work to subordinates based on priorities and requirements of assignments; Oversees time management and attendance by ensuring proper staffing ratios; process common electronically stored information for review or production by litigation team; Maintains accurate and current records regarding incoming electronic case materials; prepares electronic discovery productions for transmittal to opposing parties; builds and maintains document review databases for litigation team use; and creates electronic versions of exhibits for court filings, depositions, hearings, or trials.

Education: One of the following types of education in a related field (e.g., Criminal Justice, Law, Legal Studies): a Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate degree; OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. Education at the graduate level must be in an accredited college or university and must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position.

Combining Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. In order to qualify based on a combination, graduate education must be in excess of 2 full years.
