Duties

Help
  • You will coordinate, lead, and assist three or more crew members in performing many types of explosive ordnance and component operations.
  • You will assure the quality and safety of ordnance material and operations as related to the receipt, issue, storage, handling, segregation, renovation, preservation, and packing of such items.
  • You will oversee the loading and downloading of commercial vehicles carrying arms, ammunition and explosives (AAE) and inert material in support of NMCPAC CWD, Detachment Fallon's mission.
  • You will unitize, palletize, package, mark, and label in accordance with standard safety, material movement, and packing procedures and requirements.
  • You will process final receipt and issue documentation which includes downloading, uploading, printing scanner data, correcting scanner discrepancies, and updating automated systems.
  • You will be accountable for all material stored within a designated facility, group of facilities, conveyances, or storage areas.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current "CDL Class-A" license.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current explosives handling and safety license.
  • You will be required to obtain successful completion of AMMO-62 with ability to sign off on Hazardous Materials shipment (Hazardous Materials Certification) required within one year of hire.
  • You will be required to be trained and certified in accordance with NMCCWDDETNI Instruction 4855, Weapons Quality Assurance (QA) Program Requirements; within 30 days of hire.
  • You will be required to be trained and certified annually in accordance with OP-5 Volume 1 and OPNAVINST 8020.14; within 30 days of hire
  • You will be required to be certified and licensed in accordance with NAVSEA OP-5 Volume 1 and Paragraph 10-6-3 and NAVFAC P-307: within 30 days of hire
  • You will be required to have and maintain a license from the State appropriate to the class and size of the vehicle operated with a Hazardous material Driver endorsement.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
