Duties

Help
  • Providing recognized subject matter expertise and oversight for efforts to identify, negotiate, and define policy and process directives to achieve consistent effort in pursuing cyberspace functions throughout the DoD program community.
  • Providing authoritative interpretations of Command-level cyber policy and doctrine to subject matter experts in other Command elements.
  • Facilitating national-level meetings, discussions and negotiations necessary to identify, deconflict, and coordinate cyberspace program requirements among DoD and non-DoD program partners.
  • Exercising supervisory personnel management responsibilities for personnel assigned to the Cyber National Mission Force Cyber Plans, Partnerships, and Policy Directorate.
  • Leading a systematic assessment of Cyber National Mission Force, Command, and DoD cyberspace operations to evaluate the extent to which policy objectives and strategic plans are successful in supporting achievement of operational missions.
  • Developing cyberspace program budgets by providing realistic assessments of the costs associated with application of new cyberspace concepts, tools and techniques in the operational environment.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance
  • Incumbent must complete a counterintelligence scope polygraph exam.
  • The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • The incumbent must meet NSA personnel security requirements outlined in NSA/CSS Policy 5-1.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military and/or commercial aircraft.
  • The incumbent may be recalled to duty, may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays, and may be required to work overtime.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

This position is in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Expert Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by providing recognized subject matter expertise and oversight for the development of cyberspace strategies and policy to achieve consistent efforts throughout the DoD program community leading the analysis, definition, and validation of high-level cyberspace program requirements as a key element of the national defense strategy through collaboration with joint, interagency, and international partners; and exercising supervisory personnel management responsibilities to direct and coordinate the work of assigned personnel in a cyber plans and policy directorate.
