Duties

Help
  • You will operate individual subsystems of integrated systems to run required diagnostic checks and routines.
  • You will troubleshoot integrated systems and subsystems to determine source of malfunction.
  • You will diagnose the type and location of malfunction in integrated systems to determine necessary repairs.
  • You will perform operational checks, calibration, and final testing of electronic instruments and equipment.
  • You will coordinate with assist trades or shops for scheduling or completion of work.
  • You will Interpret electronic repair manuals, schematic circuit diagrams, formulas, and one-function diagrams to determine solutions to maintenance and repair problems which are complicated by interactions of interrelated subsystems.
  • You will Repair electronic equipment to meet operational specifications.
  • You will resolve system or subsystem problem areas to verify electronics repair and production are minimally delayed.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • You will be required to perform occasional sea duty.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current solder, wire wrap, and cable termination certification.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: The ability to do the work of an Electronics Integrated Systems Mechanic without more than normal supervisor such as:

  • Ability to repair, align and adjust major integrated electronics components and/or subsystems.
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical, diagnostic operation and equipment repair manuals, schematic circuit diagrams, equipment wiring tabulations, and one function diagrams.
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow safety regulations, quality assurance regulations, facility procedures, including Submarine Strategic Weapons Systems (SWS)Procedural Guides, Weapons Procedures, Planned Maintenance program, and Standard Maintenance Procedures, etc.
  • Ability to use a thorough knowledge of algebra, binary mathematics, and/or basic trigonometric functions to specific requirements of electronic integrated systems.
  • Ability to repair overhauls, rebuild, modify, mate, align, calibrate, and otherwise integrate all operable subsystems into complete functional systems, while monitoring interrelated subsystems, analyze operating trends, and recommend units for overhaul and/or replacement.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, analysis, overhaul, calibrate and/or repair Strategic Weapons Systems Launcher Control Systems to meet operations specifications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, analysis, overhaul, calibrate and/or repair Strategic Weapons Systems Missile Fire Control systems to meet operational needs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, analysis, overhaul, calibrate and/or repair Strategic Weapons Systems Support systems to meet operational needs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, analysis, overhaul, calibrate and/or repair complex electro-mechanical and electronic equipment associated with Missile Launchers Subsystem, Fire Control Subsystem and Strategic Weapons/Support system to meet operations specifications.
  • Ability to use test equipment (Oscilloscopes, voltmeters, ohmmeters) and other general/ specialized test equipment and/or tools to evaluate the proper operational characteristics of the integrated systems.
