Duties

Help

As a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER, GS-1152-7, you will:

  • Establish plans, schedules, and controls the maintenance and repair of a variety of vehicles and equipment
  • Conduct initial and long range planning pertaining to routine production processes, mechanical skills
  • Ensures necessary maintenance records are maintained and required reports are submitted to units
  • Authorizes the acceptance of equipment for repair; monitor work priorities, status, and completion of work orders and requisitions
  • Works with other sections within the organization to ensure equipment readiness reports are accurate and submitted in a timely manner
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:

Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Title 32 Dual-Status Positions: Compatible Military Assignments. Appointments may require the selected candidate to be assigned to a *military unit* compatible with the full-time Military Technician (Dual Status) position.


*Military Unit* -- The unit by which the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee; or a unit that the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee to support. (Guidance established by NJ HRO-J1)



Additional Employment Requirements:

  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory

  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period

  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation

  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:

Experience, education or training which indicates the candidate can reason in quantitative terms, communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, understanding the terminology and data pertaining to repair operations and process characteristics of the production activity.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

Must have at least 12 months experience, education or training working with people from various levels and backgrounds. Experience with a general knowledge of the functions and procedures of production control, records, references, and techniques for developing production control data. Experience assisting or maintaining workflow.
