Duties

Help
  • Responsible for implementation and integration of Health Informatics Technology (HIT) solution automation technologies and business applications into training.
  • Performs training management related tasks which includes identifying, analyzing, and developing policy, utilizing technical assistance for the implementation of new business practices and policies.
  • Provides guidance to analysts and trainers in the execution of the implementation of modifications to existing systems training plans and materials.
  • Develops training programs through reviews of systems, lesson plans, instructional materials, program evaluations, and participant outcomes.
  • Develops and presents Health Informatics Technology education content and compliance briefs to Network leaders and other stakeholders.
  • Provides plans, assessments and analysis of the mission to ensure Implementation and Sustainment of programs quality and effectiveness.
  • Performs Health Informatics Technology (HIT) issue analysis for knowledge gaps and generates functional guidance to aid issue resolution.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing comprehensive training programs and content tailored to organizational requirements; interpreting and analyzing policies to align with strategic training objectives; and managing end-to-end classroom administration. Evaluating course content to enhance instructional strategies and providing technical expertise and oversight to ensure the quality of training development within the Health Information Technology (HIT) domain. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

  • Certifications that are preferred but not required AMIA Health Informatics Certification (AHIC) / ACHIP, Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS), Certified Professional in Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDIP), American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA 10x10), Clinical Informatics Subspecialty (CIS), HL7 Certification, Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist (CEHRS), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Health Informatics Board Certification, Project Management Professional (PMP), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Graduate level Health Informatics Certificate completion, HDI Support Center Analyst (SCA), or HDI Desktop Support Technician (DST).

  • This is NOT a remote position. The position is located in Portsmouth, VA. The preferred duty location is the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, but for a highly qualified candidate, the location may be negotiable after selection. The selected candidate will be required to report to a federal building, ideally a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
  • Salary will be determined by your location.
