The Forge Bar and Grill at Fort Polk offers a casual dining spot serving burgers, sandwiches, and drinks in a relaxed, community-friendly setting. Located at 1321 Corps Road, it's known for solid service, affordable prices, and a comfortable atmosphere for Soldiers, families, and visitors.
United States (U.S.) Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.
Prepares a limited variety of short order fast food items such as hamburgers, hot dogs, fish and chicken sandwiches, pizzas, French fries, etc.
Coordinates food and beverage needs for special events, not limited to preparing and serving food and cleaning work areas.
Serves as cashier in the snack bar, receiving payment by cash or charge. Completes cash report at the end of assigned shift.
Prepares/slices lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and other vegetables for sandwiches, salads, and pizzas.
Assures that tables/work surfaces are promptly cleared and cleaned to include: walls, floors, equipment, and storage areas of other work areas as well. Performs other duties as assigned.
Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
A one year probationary period may be required.
Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
Certificate of Medical Examination is required.
Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3.
Incumbent will also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
Must be able to work days, night, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to lift 45 pounds.
Must meet state/local age requirements at the time of appointment if serving alcoholic beverages.

This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
