Duties

Help
  • Prepares a limited variety of short order fast food items such as hamburgers, hot dogs, fish and chicken sandwiches, pizzas, French fries, etc.
  • Coordinates food and beverage needs for special events, not limited to preparing and serving food and cleaning work areas.
  • Serves as cashier in the snack bar, receiving payment by cash or charge. Completes cash report at the end of assigned shift.
  • Prepares/slices lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and other vegetables for sandwiches, salads, and pizzas.
  • Assures that tables/work surfaces are promptly cleared and cleaned to include: walls, floors, equipment, and storage areas of other work areas as well. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
  • Certificate of Medical Examination is required.
  • Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3.
  • Incumbent will also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
  • Must be able to work days, night, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to lift 45 pounds.
  • Must meet state/local age requirements at the time of appointment if serving alcoholic beverages.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following:

Experience or training that indicates sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position consistent with acceptable practices of the trade including but not limited to:
1. Must meet state/local age requirements at the time of appointment if serving alcoholic beverages.
2. Ability to work without more than normal supervision.
3. Ability to keep things neat, clean, and in order.
4. Possess basic food preparation and handling techniques.
5. Ability to interpret verbal and written instructions.
6. Knowledge of basic sanitation principles.
7. Ability to use and maintain kitchen tools and equipment.
8. Able to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds occasionally lifting 45 pounds, and frequently walk, bend, stoop, pull, push and reach.

Allowances and Differentials
  • This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
