Duties

Help

In this role as a Business Office Liaison you will be responsible for:

  • Analyzing and evaluating programs for compliance with Federal laws and regulations, as well as SEC policies and procedures.
  • Collaborating with staff and office leadership on approaches to maximize the utilization of resources to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
  • Preparing Congressional justifications and operating budget requests, monitoring and analyzing the budget, and performance metrics.
  • Supporting development and facilitation of staffing plans and recruitment activities.
  • Providing other operational guidance and assistance in support of the DERA administrative program.
  • Drafting and presenting management analyses and reporting. Communicating highly complex information to others via face-to-face meetings, telephone, or email.
  • Identifying ways to improve or enhance current practices and programs to ensure business objectives are met.

  • PROBATIONARY PERIOD: This appointment may require completion of a one-year probationary period.

Qualifications

Time-in-grade for this announcement is one year at the GS/SK-13 level.

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT:
SK-14: Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/SK-13 level:

  1. 1. Leading the formulation, development, or evaluation of recommendations, administrative policies, procedures, or operational initiatives designed to address organizational requirements and advance program objectives; AND
  2. 2. Experience performing substantive analytical or administrative work ALL the following functional areas:
  3. Financial Management or Budget Analysis, such as budget formulation, execution, financial oversight, or resource planning;
  4. Human Resources Management, such as staffing, position management, workforce planning, or organizational design;
  5. Acquisitions Management, including procurement planning, acquisition package development, or contract administration support;
  6. General Administrative Support, such as space management, travel management, records management, or other administrative service programs supporting organizational operations.
ACCOMPLISHMENT RECORD COMPETENCIES: Your Accomplishment Record narratives should address the following competencies. See the How You Will Be Evaluated section below for more information:

Research and Analysis of Support Functions: Conducts research on and suggests improvements to program and office support functions.
Problem Solving and Decision Making - Ability to identify and solve important problems relevant to program areas through sound and timely decision making, even in less-than-ideal situations, with some guidance.
Teamwork and Collaboration - Interacts with internal and external others in a manner that advances SEC goals and objectives.
Workload Management - Effectively prioritizes workload in a way that accommodates unforeseen developments and achieves successful outcomes.

The overall salary range listed above is provided for informational purposes; a selectee's initial pay will be established below the maximum rate of the range.   • Qualified - Meets the minimum qualification requirements, but may have a limited amount of experience in several of the job related competencies.
