Duties

Help

Oversee the day-to-day event venue operations including ready-prepared food production, and catering contract services. Coordinates venue service for special events, banquets, and social functions. Collaborate with Food and Beverage Program Manager and other team members to create and set pricing for food production menus, venue and equipment rentals. Develop and implement marketing initiatives to promote events, special promotions and catering service offerings. Works with the Food and Beverage Program Manager in establishing financial goals, implementing higher level directives and formulating procedures to ensure high standards in the Food and Beverage Department.  Adheres to proper military and civilian protocol, and coordinates with military and civilian leadership in connection with Food and Beverage activities.

Serves as Contracting Officer¿s Representative (COR) responsible for pre-award and post award functions for a variety of catering and entertainment contracts. Responsible for completion and accuracy of the contracting and procurement process, up to the finalization of a signed contract/agreement. Maintains contract files, their amendments and operational records associated with operation. Uses knowledge of structure and content of financial documents like invoices and reports to research and resolve routine or recurring discrepancies. Regularly audit contract documents and processes commission payments to adhere to compliance regulations.

Plans, organizes work, and manages internal procedures and resources to ensure maximum productivity and economies.  Prepares financial reports on sales, expenses, labor costs, profitability and exercises authority on approved budget.  Implement business practices and initiatives that promote efficiency and productivity. Directly or indirectly, subordinate supervisors supervise employees.  Counsels and trains employees, schedules and directs work, appraises work performance.  Approves or disapproves leave, and personnel actions.  Must be alert to substance abuse and take appropriate action.  Effectively supports the Marine Corps Equal Employment Opportunity and Sexual Harassment policies, and ensures compliance with fire, safety, and other environmental issues and programs.  Maintains and enforces security of funds, merchandise, supplies and equipment to preclude or minimize the potential for fraud, waste and abuse.

Responsible for establishing customer service standards and setting performance metrics to ensure service goals are met and high-quality service are delivered to customers. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Ensure that customer feedback and concerns are addressed and resolved in a professional manner.  Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services.  Takes action to solve problems quickly.  Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.  

Performs other related duties as assigned.

EVALUATIONS:

Qualifications

A minimum of four years of managerial experience that demonstrates knowledge in multi- function hospitality operations.  Experience with point-of-sale system, event management software, and inventory management systems preferred. Knowledge of a limited range of contract types, required clauses, and special provisions to carry out procurement actions. Knowledge of the procurement process, the activity's procurement needs, market sources, and related business practices preferred. Knowledge of NAF policies and procedures preferred.  Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and patrons and communicate orally and in writing.  This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required.
