Anticipate organizational needs/problems, provide timely, effective advice and guidance to those executing the mission, and their stakeholders, on improving the management and operational needs of the organization.
Ensures that the work of the Division complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets agency or customer needs.
Collaborates with the workforce to collect, consolidate, and analyze data in order to develop, prepare, and update comprehensive reports, charts, graphics, and presentations.
Responsible for all Business Analytics/Intelligence and Management Information Technology needs.
Plan, direct, coordinate, and provide analytical support for tracking and measuring project outcomes and objectives for analytics.

HOW TO QUALIFY: Eligible applicants must meet the following qualification requirements.

Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-14 level, or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience must include ALL of the following:
Data analytics and applying a variety of data mining methods and statistical concepts;
Developing and overseeing business intelligence processes and projects;
Communicating technical information to stakeholders;
Anticipating organizational needs/problems and providing advice and guidance to senior leadership.

This is a non-bargaining unit position to be filled under the provisions of the Management Officials Promotion Plan. The best-qualified list for this vacancy may be used to fill the same or similar positions in a component(s) under the same Chief. Additional selections may be made within 6 months of the date the best qualified list is issued.
LOCALITY PAY: Salary will be set in accordance with locality pay provisions. Candidates currently receiving a higher locality pay than the office applied for are advised that should they be selected, they will lose entitlement to the higher locality pay.
OTHER NOTES:
Selected employee is subject to the completion of a 1-year probationary period for a supervisory position unless the employee served in such a position before August 11, 1979, or has completed one.

Knowledge of Business Analytics which includes data analytics, data analysis, and data extract.
Skill in using relational database concepts, class and object source data, tables, joins, dimensions, and measures (sum, count, average, maximum, minimum) to mine data, build reports and develop various dashboards.
Skill in using business analytics tools and techniques.
Ability in retrieving large amounts of data from various sources utilizing Structured Query Language (SQL) and other applicable tools, which includes using business intelligence, web intelligence, Microstrategy, Tableau, PowerBI, business objects universe concepts, analytics and other data/information retrieval platforms.
Skill in using visualization software (e.g., Tableau) and Microstrategy, web intelligence, Dashboards, and various other user interfaces, and visualization tools to visualize data in a clear, concise and actionable manner.
