Duties

Help

The General Maintenance and Operations Supervisor serves under the general supervision of the Building Manager and performs a variety of duties in the zone.

In this position, you will:

  • Act as a principal advisor to the Zone Manager on maintenance operations involving the metals, electrical, paint, woodcraft, and HVAC Shop's responsibilities for painting, machining, carpentry, and masonry.
  • Plans work schedules in various time frames, recognizing that while some of the routine work may be scheduled on a day-to-day basis, much of the work will necessitate scheduling weeks and months in advance.
  • Plan, direct and monitor the work of subordinates with journeyman skills.
  • Establish deadlines and priorities on the basis of work schedules, methodologies and governing policies.
  • Maintains close contact with customers, responding promptly to inquiries and period checks to determine degree of satisfaction.

  1. Ability to supervise a full range of operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair services associated with painting carpentry, plumbing and electrical operations
  2. Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, operations, repair, and maintenance (painting, carpentry, plumbing, or electrical)
  3. Knowledge of technical practices associated with painting, carpentry, plumbing and electrical operations
  4. Ability to use measuring instruments associated with painting, carpentry, plumbing or electrical work
  5. Knowledge of interpreting instructions, specifications, etc. (includes blueprint reading)
  6. Skills in using and maintaining tools and equipment used to perform minor repairs and maintenance
  7. knowledge of materials used performing maintenance tasks, painting, plumbing, electrical or carpentry work
