Duties

Help
  • You will provide oversight, management and 24/7 response coverage in support of a transportation program involving procuring carriers and transportation services to move explosives and hazardous materials.
  • You will perform staff analytical work to develop, plan, evaluate, and advise on traffic management policies and programs.
  • You will provide advisory services to operating program managers on transportation program requirements, capabilities, policies, and procedures.
  • You will survey and evaluate transportation program operations to assess compliance with applicable regulations, policies, procedures, and sound management practices.
  • You will conduct special studies and work on projects in a specific functional area for the general development, application, and impact of traffic management programs, policies, and operations.
  • You will coordinate and liaises with internal and external customers across a broad spectrum of government employees, military members, consultants, contractors, other government organizations, or private industry.
  • You will evaluate program performance and oversee the implementation of program requirements by applying expertise in materiel management, DoD transportation processes, and cross functional coordination to ensure programs meet objectives.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 pay band (GS-11 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Interpreting and implementing Federal DOT, DoD, State and local traffic and transportation policies, regulations and laws, including commercial, industrial, and governmental shipping standards pertaining to railroad and highway shipment of explosives and transportation equipment including operation, maintenance, testing, and emergency recovery methods.
