Duties

Help

Provides patron guidance for selection of golf equipment, merchandise and tee times. Assists patrons with golf club rental, assigns golf carts, sells pro-shop merchandise, and processes patron special orders. Explains course safety rules and regulations to patrons. Receives and logs merchandise and creates merchandise displays. Operates cash register, rings up the sale, receives money and makes change, processes credit card sale, or charges to member's account. At the end of each tour of duty clears the cash register and turns over cash and supporting documents as instructed.. Ensures the daily POS register closing procedures are followed. Responsible for maintaining the pro shop in a neat, clean and orderly condition to include sweeping and mopping of floors in designated work areas. Ensures only authorized patrons use golf course and facilities. Transports golf carts from cart barn to designated staging areas and transports carts back to cart barn for storage. In a Food Activity: Performs check-out duties such as ringing up food, beverages and merchandise by individual item; totaling sales; processing credit card sales; receiving money; and making change. May perform related food service duties such as assisting in setting up the serving line, replenishing beverage dispensers, delivering food items to patrons, clearing and cleaning of tables, serving or scooping ice cream and frozen food items.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Basic knowledge of golf course operations required. Must have ability to read, write and speak English. Experience in responsible clerical or office work which includes demonstrated ability to perform common arithmetic problems, and making change when receiving payments from customers. Experience in the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit or other processing of cash items when this includes (1) direct handling of cash items, and (2) use of cash accountability control methods. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Must possess skill in dealing with the public.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
