This position is open to current permanent employees of the Veteran's Health Administration. Eligible applications will be reviewed and referred in the following order:
1. Current permanent VHA employees of the Carl T. Hayden Veterans' Administration Medical Center.
2. All other VA employees.
Major duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Receive and inspect deliveries.
Requisitions all supplies needed for the different areas in Food Service.
Conduct menu conferences, completes schedule assignments, cold prep sheets, record temperatures and completes tray assembly area report.
Prepares performance ratings/competencies for all employees under direct supervision.
Maintains inventory of food service supplies and equipment.
Responsible for conducting all quality assurance monitors and sanitation reviews in accordance with established procedures.
Develops and fosters the climate for positive interactive relationships and demonstrates support for quality service to patients and among Services.
Work Schedule: 11:30am- 8:00pm. Sunday through Saturday - 40 hours a week with a Rotating Schedule that may include weekends, holidays, days, evenings, and nights. Days off are determined by the needs of the service.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Work is performed in kitchen areas where the steam and heat from cooking and dishwashing equipment often cause uncomfortably high temperatures and humidity. Performs work requiring light to moderate physical. May be required to perform heavy work, such as scouring and scrubbing large size cooking utensils and pushing heavy carts and trucks in unloading, storing, and delivering supplies. Subject to continuous standing and walking, and frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and bending. Frequently lifts or moves objects weighing up to 20 pounds unassisted and occasionally lift or move objects weighing more than 40 pounds with the assistance of others.
