Duties

Help
  • You will serve as the primary coordinator for Limited Area (LA) security operations and security safeguards requirements.
  • You will serve as back-up point of contact for the coordination of Area Waterfront Restricted Area (WRA) and Convoy Route (CR) security operations and plans as required.
  • You will plan and conduct comprehensive analytical analysis of established command, service and national policy, directives and guidance to identify specified and implied tasks and requirements.
  • You will conduct daily liaison with higher/adjacent/subordinate activities for security support and de-confliction of scheduling issues to promote production and maintenance as required.
  • You will assist with scheduling, organizing, coordinating conduct of the annual Local Threat Capabilities Assessment and Assist with scheduling, organizing, coordinating conduct of the annual Vulnerability Assessment.
  • You will coordinate access control for LA tours, special projects and events; Represent the Security Operations Division in meetings regarding the LA/WRA for coordination of security requirements.
  • You will prepare security plans and procedures IAW higher level directives to support new facility projects, maintenance, and construction efforts.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) and Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within two years of the date of hire.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least three years of general experience, 1 year which was equivalent to at least the NH-01 pay band (GS-04 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Reviewing and analyzing nuclear weapon security policies to ensure compliance; coordinating security operations within weapon storage areas or during production events; and demonstrating a working knowledge of security force training processes and operational procedures.

Education

Education may be substituted for experience as follows:

  • You have successfully completed a four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or another field related to the position; or
  • You have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.

This announcement uses the Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (AcqDemo) Business & Technical Management direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.

This position is part of the Department of Defense Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project. The NH-2 broadband level encompasses positions equivalent to GS-5 through GS-11.

Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees.

A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
