Duties

Help
  • Serves as the Program Administrator and subject matter expert (SME) for the installation Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS) Program.
  • Directly supervises and provides guidance and training to the BOSS President and Vice President on all assigned duties. Also responsible for providing guidance and training to over 500 BOSS representatives on the installation.
  • Oversees, plans, coordinates, and administers activities based on the pillars of the BOSS program, i.e. community service and recreation and leisure.
  • Solicits for sponsorship under the direct supervision of the installation MWR Marketing Department. Develops a marketing plan for recreational programs.
  • Responsible for the set-up and teardown of portable staging equipment supporting installation special events. Briefs the installation command group on upcoming events.

  • Hours of work may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • This position is designated as a Key Essential position for the purpose of deploying during contingency operations to support Soldiers.
  • A valid driver's license may be required.
  • Work is normally sedentary and performed in an office environment. However, from time to time outside work is required to support special events. This outside work may involve heat, cold, dust, mud, wind, etc.
  • The mental and physical requirements include oral, visual, and audio ability at a level to ensure that the duties of this position will be performed at both a safe and satisfactory level.
  • The job requires long periods of sitting, standing, walking (sometimes on uneven surfaces), climbing, kneeling, stooping, pushing, pulling, and regular lifting and carrying of light to moderate weights up to 60 pounds.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following:

  1. Applicants must have experience performing work similar to the duties listed above.
  2. Must be able to manage multiple projects and determine priorities of work under the guidance of SOPs, APF and NAF BOSS regulations, and immediate supervisor.
  3. Ability to learn military correspondence procedures and dealing with the public.
  4. Must also possess excellent verbal and written skills in English.
  5. Must have a working knowledge of basic software, i.e.
  6. Knowledge of budget formulation and administration is also required.


Highly preferred candidates will be referred to management first. In addition to meeting the above qualifications, highly preferred is defined as also meeting all of the criteria listed below:
  • A minimum of 2 years experience preparing and managing a budget.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience planning, executing, and evaluating events and recreational programming.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience advising, mentoring, or directing a committee, board, volunteer organization or similar.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience developing marketing plans and building partnerships with external community organizations.
Highly preferred experience must be clearly stated in resume to be qualified as highly preferred
