Duties

Help

  • The incumbent is responsible to verify all cash received, to include the Yen change fund and Dollar change fund.
  • Cashes checks (limit $100.00 per person per day); ensuring that checks are correctly filled out and legible; and assure that proper identification is furnished by all patrons to assure that the patron is eligible to cash checks.
  • Makes Yen exchange for patrons.
  • Wraps coins for all slot machine sales.
  • Assures that all patrons furnish proper identification when situation warrants such action.
  • Accountable for all slot machines malfunction payouts. Complete appropriate paper work and maintain accurate records.
  • Maintains necessary records and prepare required reports for each shift.
  • Answers incoming phone calls and answer inquiries, paging customers, etc.
  • Maintains the work area in a presentable condition.
  • Incumbent must present a neat, well-groomed, professional appearance at all times and must work harmoniously with co-workers and members of the MWR Department.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Incumbent must be able to work varied work schedules to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • NAF Flexible (FLEX) employees are not eligible for benefits or leave accrual.

Qualifications

Resumes must include information which demonstrates experience and knowledge, skills, and ability (KSAs) as they relate to this position. Applicants are encouraged to be clear and specific when describing their experience level and KSAs. A qualified candidate possesses the following:

  • Three (3) months general experience.
  • Must have skill and knowledge to perform tasks involving several procedures and be able to concentrate on work assignments despite interruptions and distractions.
  • Must be familiar with Yen currency.
  • Basic arithmetic and cash handling procedures are required.
  • Must be able to work day, evening and weekend shifts, including holidays.
  • Must be reliable, courteous and have the ability to deal and converse with the public in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Must be able to handle money accurately.
  • Ability to operate a cash register and personal computer. Incumbent must have basic accounting knowledge.
  • Must possess good customer service skills.

Education

This position does not have an education qualification requirement.

Additional information

  • Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
  • Employees (and family members) who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only.
  • All candidates must reside within the commuting area.
  • Non-US Citizen or Non-US Bona Fide Resident Alien (Non-Green Card Holder) applicants who are SOFA sponsored must provide a completed police record check with at least seven (7) years of history from the embassy/consulate of their country of citizenship upon receipt of a formal job offer.

  • Experience with collecting/issuing money bags and cash funds.
  • Experience with receiving, counting and verifying money.
  • Experience with cash processing policies and procedures.
