Duties

Help

In this position, you will:

- Independently maintain building automation and associated network systems to include; Commission and test new and existing building automation systems and mechanical equipment, controlled by building automation systems.

- Troubleshoot, diagnose, calibrate, repair, and upgrade automation systems, networks and components.

- Develop work plans and procedures.

- Interpret technical drawings and documentation and ensure compliance with codes and standards.

- Provide emergency support and respond to callbacks.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must possess one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-10 (ZT-III) at NIST level.

Specialized experience is defined as:
- Maintaining building automation and control systems, including installing new systems, troubleshooting failures, calibrating instruments, and upgrading software.
- Experience interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints, schematics, operations manuals, and work orders to repair, upgrade, or modify automation systems.
- Experience diagnosing critical system failures and restoring functionality during emergency events or critical system outages.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
