Duties

Help
  • Participates with the Division Chief in directing activities and formulating plans for the overall management of the Division.
  • Serves as staff advisor to the Division Chief and as directed, or in the absence of the Division Chief, furnishes advice to the District Engineer in staff conferences with representatives of high echelons, at public hearings, etc.
  • Implements directives from higher authority, policies formulated by the Division Chief, personnel management, intra-branch and project cooperation and assures most efficient use of human and financial resources.
  • Serves as Operations Division representative in District deputies group working district wide initiatives and problem sets.
  • Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Non-Critical Sensitive with Secret access security clearance for the duration of employment in this position.
  • This position requires a financial disclosure OGE-450 and annually and thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience in ALL the following areas: (1) Program planning, resourcing, policy guidance and overall staff operations for an organization; AND (2) developing program goals and objectives in support of projects and technical operations in at least ONE of the following areas: locks and dams, navigation, environmental stewardship, flood control, hydropower generation, and recreation resources and facilities; AND (3) experience reviewing and making recommendations for operating budgets.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
