This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

Help
  • Perform supervisory duties; assigns work based on priorities, difficulty, and capabilities; provides technical oversight; develop performance plans; provide guidance, counseling, and disciplinary measures; identify training needs.
  • Oversee, plan and perform Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) credentials/privileging functions for sister services, reserve components, Veteran Affairs, and DHA.
  • Ensure compliance and manages licensures for all privileged and non-privileged staff.
  • Oversee Credentials Committee, Impaired Provider, and Adverse Action meetings and prepare documents to ensure completion of follow-up actions, utilizing Joint Centralized Credentials Quality Assurance System (JCCQAS), CarePoint and other databases.
  • Develop, evaluate, and analyze the Credentials Program.
  • Collect data, interprets policy changes, revises applicable policies, and implements new regulations and conduct performance improvement activities.
  • Advise command leadership on the Credential Program. Ensures Joint Commission standards and other regulatory guidance compliance; conducts audits; develops SOPs.
  • Support MTF Quality Management by integrating credentials/privileging with Risk Management, Performance Improvement, and Patient Safety programs.
  • Facilitate information exchange and develops reports as directed.

  • Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
  • This position is designated as mission essential. The incumbent will be required to ensure continuity of Tripler Army Medical Center's operations during ALL hazard's emergency situations.
  • Term employment is subject to a one year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This is an obligated position.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes advising on clinical regulatory issues regarding credentialing and privileging, assisting in designing improvement process reviews for a medical treatment facility, and reviewing Risk Management/Adverse Actions or Summary Suspension cases related to credentialing. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
