Duties

Help
  • You will be responsible for coordinating improvements in Data, Metrics and Analytics throughout the Navy's maintenance and modernization enterprise and with the larger Navy IT organizations.
  • You will manage a diverse and geographically separated team from NAVSEA Headquarters, Naval Surface Warfare Center Detachments, TYCOMs, Surface Warfare Enterprise teams, PEO Ships, Regional Maintenance Centers to address data and metrics concerns.
  • You will be a subject matter expert in the maintenance and modernization analytics web tools, managing IT efforts such as the Ships Maintenance Data Improvement Initiative, the Material Readiness Database, and the HME Online Report.
  • You will serve as SEA 21D's lead for research projects with the Office of Naval Research, Perform-to-Plan efforts, the Navy's Get Real Get Better improvement strategies, Surface North Star, Ships Maintenance Performance Group (SMPG).

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is part of the DoD Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project. The NH-04 broadband level includes positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15.
  • This hiring activity, within Naval Sea System Command (NAVSEA) Headquarters, has converted to the Acquisition Demonstration Project (AcqDemo) which is an alternate personnel system.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band (NH-03) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector designing acquisition strategy and program baseline, and directing acquisition life cycle activities (i.e. concept refinement, technology development, system development and demonstration, production and deployment, operations and support, disposal) for a ship, submarine, carrier, ship system or weapon system.
