  • Team-oriented, customer-driven, professional environment to develop new models of care that emphasize prevention, improve access and coordination of care.
  • Educate and empower patients and their families; enhance the customer experience with positive human interactions and therapeutic alliances; and promote the coordination, continuity and integration of care. He/she demonstrates flexibility, integrity and accountability with a work ethic that emphasizes excellence and quality.
  • Builds customer confidence by professional dress and demeanor.
  • Review eligibility of each Veteran before finalizing Beneficiary Travel reimbursements.
  • Attends to all details of voucher processing to prevent the processing of fraudulent claims Research payments for reimbursement when requested by Veterans, Supervisor or the Mobility Manager, coordinating with the Fiscal office when required.
  • Prepare data processing report for daily batch review
  • Prepare and audit Beneficiary Travel voucher daily batch for errors
  • Coordinate daily with all vendors for Special Mode Transportation
  • Review eligibility of each Veteran before authorizing Ambulance Bill payments
  • Schedule and reserve tickets for eligible patients requiring airline transportation
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

    demands but will require some physical effort such as standing, walking, bending or sitting.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience GS-6: You must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-05) in the Federal Service, that is directly related to the work of the position and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties as a Transportation Assistant. Qualifying specialized experience includes Handles incoming and outgoing calls, Processes mail and scans claims, Performs administrative and/or clerical tasks, Communicates with internal and external customers daily, Creates/Sends a schedule daily. NOTE: Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must clearly indicate the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.

Receiving Service Credit for Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior work experience or military service experience. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave. Such credit must be requested and approved prior to the appointment date and is not guaranteed.
