As the Department of Defense's lead laboratory for the development of medical countermeasures against chemical threat agents, the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense (USAMRICD), a Defense Health Agency Research & Development (DHA R&D) asset, is increasingly called upon to provide expert analytical and consultative services related to medical chemical defense research and to the medical management of chemical casualties.

As the Department of Defense's lead laboratory for the development of medical countermeasures against chemical threat agents, the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense (USAMRICD), a Defense Health Agency Research & Development (DHA R&D) asset, is increasingly called upon to provide expert analytical and consultative services related to medical chemical defense research and to the medical management of chemical casualties.
Serve as a Logistics Management Specialist with responsibility for planning, directing, coordinating, managing, and executing the Institute’s various logistics programs.
Oversee the Property Accountability Program.
Oversee the Clinical Engineering Department and the maintenance and repair of specialized medical and laboratory equipment.
Manage the organization's Freight and Fleet Programs.
Participate in the Controlled Medical Item Management Program by serving as the Institute’s Registrant with the Drug Enforcement Agency.
Function as the Supply Chain Manager for acquisitions, serving as a Government Purchase Card Billing Official.
Perform contract management and surveillance to ensure contract requirements and performance metrics are being met, provides written and verbal feedback to contracting personnel.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
This position is designated Mission Essential.
This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirement.
Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year Supervisory Probationary Period.
Qualifications
USAMRICD is participating in an alternative personnel system known as the Personnel Demonstration Project (PDP). The DJ-04 payband is equivalent to the GS-13 step 1 to GS-14 step 10 level. In keeping with the Demonstration pay fixing policies, employees earning a salary that falls within this payband equivalent, may not receive an immediate pay increase (promotion) if appointed to this position. Future pay increases within the payband will be accomplished through the pay for performance management system.

(3) Experience developing medical logistics processes and/or procedures for an organization.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (DJ-03/GS-12).
