Duties

Help
  • Oversee the procurement processes and controls for use of the Government Purchase Card (GPC).
  • Direct the supply and service support programs provided to military, government civilian, and contractor personnel.
  • Monitor the progress toward implementation of strategic logistics plans.
  • Develop strategic plans and administers and evaluates medical supply programs and functions to ensure overall division mission accomplishment.
  • Oversee the work of subordinate supervisors who perform supply chain management, acquisition, and equipment management functions.
  • Monitor work performance to ensure effective accomplishment of goals and objectives and adherence to policies and directives.
  • Evaluate any adjustments in plans as needed to meet unanticipated projects and changing requirements and funding.
  • Approve the development and maintenance of logistics metrics that highlight program successes and deficiencies and drive strategic continuous process improvement.

  • Tier 3(Secret): This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility or a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • Supervisory Probation: This position may require the incumbent to complete a one-year supervisory probationary period.
  • Inclement Weather Essential: Position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
  • This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • Shift Work: This position may require the incumbent to work on call during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing, administering and maintaining the branch annual budget for supplies and equipment; providing guidance on technical and administrative matters to assigned personnel; facilitating the review of monthly Government Purchase Card (GPC) financial transactions; coordinating, planning, directing, reviewing and/or evaluating branch activities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
