The incumbent:
Teacher, DoDEA Virtual School Duties:

  • Assists students in completing online work as appropriate.
  • Designs and develops online lessons and assessments for publication in the Learning Management System.
  • Creates, maintains and updates communication log for assigned students.
  • Is available to staff, students and sponsors via phone, instant message or other synchronous communication tools.
  • Communicates regularly with students, sponsors, staff and assigned administrators.
  • Collaborates with other educators in required content area digital learning communities (DLCs) to exchange ideas and utilize best practices for online learning.

  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement.

  • This position requires a Tier 1 (T1) investigation with Childcare Checks since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: U.S. Citizens

This is a 0375 - Teacher (Japanese) position.

Applicant must have at least a Bachelor's Degree.

0375 Teacher (Japanese) - A minimum 24 semester hours of Japanese coursework or a minimum score of Intermediate High on OPI from ACTFL is required. A minimum of 6 semester hours of theory and methodology of teaching a foreign language is required.
