Duties

Help
  • Provide guidance over the installation's security, and fire prevention and protection programs.
  • Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty, and capabilities of employees.
  • Attend local staff functions, conferences, committees, and board meetings as the principal advisor on division activities.
  • Ensure compliance of environmental, security, and fire protection laws and regulations.
  • Act as liaison with higher authority for acquisition, interpretation and dissemination of all plan formulation policy guidance and reviews planning reports for adherence to current guidelines for plan formulation.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify, you must have one year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal Service which includes:
1) Providing overall planning, programming, and execution of security, and/or fire prevention and protection programs; 2) Formulating policy and making decisions on policy matters that commit the organization, and provide guidance and leadership over assigned activities; and 3) Performing work within broad guidelines of existing regulations and policies.
