  • Lead and direct comprehensive facility operations and maintenance programs, shaping strategic priorities to ensure mission critical reliability.
  • Develop, implement, and interpret safety, security, and risk management policies, resolving complex issues that have significant operational impact.
  • Provide authoritative oversight of contractor operations, resolving high visibility problems, negotiating solutions, and ensuring contract compliance.
  • Lead major audits, studies, and investigations, synthesizing results into strategic recommendations that influence organizational decisions.
  • Serve as a technical authority, guiding system upgrades, evaluating advanced technologies, and advising leadership on long term facility capability needs.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level:

  • Leading teams or providing oversight of operations and maintenance activities of facilities to improve facility operational capability and efficiency;
  • Participating in the development of strategies for operations and maintenance of facilities, including inspecting and evaluating work performed and compliance with safety plans, specifications, and contract requirements;
  • Providing senior technical guidance to facility operations and maintenance contractors, communicating issues to upper management, and developing and implementing solutions to complex or critical issues.

Probationary Period
