As a SUPERVISORY GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST, GS-2001-11, you will develop goals and objectives that integrate organizational, logistics, supply, transportation and inventory management. Establishes, reviews, and revises policies, procedures, mission objectives, and organization design for the staff, as necessary, to eliminate work problems or barriers to mission accomplishment. Promotes team building, implements quality improvements, and responds to concerns with regulatory compliance and/or customer requirements. The incumbent provides technical and administrative supervision to subordinate personnel. Incumbent establishes priorities based on attainment of goals, objectives and work to be accomplished. Assigns work to achieve maximum economy, effectiveness, skill utilization, and employee motivation. Makes assignments based on priorities and the difficulty and requirements of the assignment. Interviews candidates for positions in the flight; recommends appointment, promotion, or reassignment of subordinate personnel. Monitors and evaluates employee performance. The incumbent assists employees in reaching performance goals. Informs subordinates of agency policies and programs. Hears and resolves complaints from employees, referring grievances and more serious unresolved complaints to a higher level supervisor or manager. Effects minor disciplinary measures such as warnings and reprimands and recommends other action in more serious cases. Identifies developmental and training needs of subordinates and provides and/or arranges for needed development and training. Approves and/or disapproves leave requests. Implements, promotes, and effectively supports equal opportunity for all personnel and follows provisions of labor agreements and applicable directives pertaining to personnel management. Promotes acceptance and adherence of special emphasis programs. Maintains an effective position management program.

This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
Security Clearance requirements are determined by position and/or MOS/AFSC compatibility.

May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

Qualifications
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians.
PCS:Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.

MILITARY GRADE(S): Enlisted: E6 thru E8
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education or training involving administration of supply management, storage, cataloging, packaging and distribution or other work which provided the applicant with a general knowledge of one or more aspects of the supply field. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:GS11 Must have at least one year of specialized experiences at the GS-09 level or the equivalent which provides knowledge and/or experience demonstrating ability researching documents or other resources to coordinate inventory requirements. Knowledge of stock levels, inventory, shipping, receiving, requisitioning and requirements of supplies and equipment. Experience involving the control of supply stocks and accounting for equipment. Knowledge of supply management, cataloging, maintenance, and disposal procedures. Experience which required person-to-person contacts to convey information and ability to compile reports, letters, memoranda, etc. Demonstrated experience with cost estimates, budgets, or funding management. Experience conducting extensive and exhaustive searches for required information; reconstruct records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for supply activities.
TEMPORARY PROMOTION- For Title 32 selectees only: This is an obligated position (incumbent is on a military tour). If a permanent employee in the Title 32 excepted civil service accepts this position, he/she will retain their permanent status AND return to their previous Title 32 position once incumbent returns from military duty. If the military tour member, who has reemployment rights to this position, does not exercise his/her reemployment rights within 5 years, the selected individual may remain in this position without further competition.
INDEFINITE APPOINTMENT-For Current Title 5 selectees only: This is an obligated position (incumbent is on a military tour). If an on-board individual employed in the Title 5 excepted civil service accepts this position, he/she will receive an indefinite appointment (Tenure 3). If a Reduction-In-Force occurs and/or the military tour member exercises reemployment rights to this position, the indefinite appointee will have no reemployment rights to any other position and may be separated. If the military tour member, having reemployment rights to this position, does not exercise his/her rights within 5 years, this position may be converted to a permanent status without further competition.
