Duties

Help
  • Analyze, evaluate, advise, and coordinate healthcare delivery systems and operations in relation to the DOD (Department of Defense) and VA's EHR (Electronic Health Records) implementation.
  • Oversee major programs, including the transition from legacy systems to MHS GENESIS, optimization of laboratory workflows, and deployment of health information technology (IT) to new laboratory facilities.
  • Conduct research to develop and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Lead and mentor team of professionals providing issue resolution for more than 500 global DOD (Department of Defense) laboratories.
  • Lead coordination efforts to ensure cohesive policy implementation across the Federal healthcare space.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders ensuring effective communication.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience:

One year of specialized experience which includes (1)Performing system resolutions for optimal performance; (2)Providing program oversight for all electronic health records systems aspects of laboratory modules such as General Laboratory, Blood Bank and Transfusion, Microbiology, Molecular Genetics, and/or Anatomic Pathology; (3)Collaborating with external laboratory systems for system consistency; AND (4) Training new team members to meet enterprise needs This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
