Duties

Help

Financial Systems Management & Optimization: Lead the administration, enhancement, and continuous improvement of financial systems, applications, and business processes to ensure efficiency, functionality, and data integrity.
Compliance, Internal Controls & Audit Support: Ensure financial transactions, systems, and reporting comply with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards, and support internal controls, audits, and risk mitigation efforts.
Financial Reporting & Closing Operations: Support accurate and timely financial reporting by assisting with monthly and annual close activities, reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial data accuracy.
System Development, Data Management & SQL Support: Develop and maintain databases, reports, and system solutions using SQL and related tools to improve reporting capabilities, data organization, and operational performance.
System Implementation, Training & User Support: Coordinate system upgrades, testing, and implementations while providing training, technical guidance, and ongoing support to financial system users.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Vendor Coordination: Partner with internal departments, external vendors, and service providers to resolve system issues, improve integrations, and enhance overall business operations.
Additional Responsibilities & Flexibility: Perform and adapt to additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Specialized Qualifications: In addition to meeting the education requirement, applicants must demonstrate the following:

Financial Reporting Experience: Minimum of two years of professional experience preparing and analyzing a variety of financial reports.
Accounting Knowledge: Working knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and standard accounting practices.
Financial Analysis & Problem Solving: Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate financial data and identify discrepancies, trends, or operational issues.
Decision-Making Ability: Ability to assess financial information and make sound, informed decisions.
Budget & Fiscal Closeout Support: Experience assisting with budget execution activities, including fiscal year-end closeout processes.
Accounting Systems & Process Development: Experience preparing procedural instructions supporting the development, implementation, or modification of automated accounting systems.
Account Reconciliation: Ability to research and resolve discrepancies between general ledger accounts and subsidiary records.
Automated Accounting System Operations: Experience entering, updating, retrieving, and maintaining financial data within automated accounting systems.
Work Planning & Priority Management: Ability to establish work priorities, manage deadlines, and ensure timely completion of assignments.

Education

  • 24 semester hours in accounting, which may include up to 6 semester hours in business law; OR
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; OR
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, or similar) that includes at least 24 semester hours in accounting.
