Help
  • Pass on to other workers instructions received from supervisor, and start work.
  • Insure that needed material and tools are available, and that needed stock is obtained from supply locations.
  • Check work in progress and when finished, check for compliance with supervisor's instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines.
  • Work along with other workers, setting the pace.
  • Provide information to supervisor on status and progress of work, causes of delays, and overall work operations and problems.

  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
  • The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • This position has been designated “Mission Essential”. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health/ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • The employee must possess and maintain a Class A, Commercial Driver's License.
  • The employee will be required to obtain and maintain any installation and/or DOD license required for the type vehicle being operated.
  • Position requires employee to be able to utilize an alpha/numeric keyboard in conjunction with utilizing automated information systems.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Engineering Equipment Operator Leader ~ without more than normal supervision. Safely assist and direct other employees engaged in engineering equipment operation and roads maintenance work; Pass on instructions and maintain the pace of the projects at hand; Provide information to supervisor on status of progress of work, causes of delays and overall work operations and problems; performing work in accordance with drawings, sketches, blue prints, specifications, engineer plans, and own knowledge of constructions needed repairs. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

  • Work involves strenuous, heavy physical effort in constantly reaching, bending, turning, and moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to handle different sets of controls to operate the equipment and attachments. Work is performed on large pieces of equipment, which requires frequent adjustments. The terrain will often cause more adverse operating conditions than work on flat or rolling terrain. Considerable strain is caused by the constant vibration of the equipment and from jerking and jolting while operating over rough surfaces. Employee is frequently required to work in awkward or strained positions due to location of the controls and attachments.
  • Work is performed outside, in all types of weather, often in an open driver's seat or platform, on hills, slopes, grades, rolling surfaces and forests. Operator is constantly exposed to injury due to the possibility of the equipment overturning while working on rough and uneven terrain. Subject to noise, vibration, dust, dirt, and fumes from the motor and exhaust.???????
