The selectee of this position serves as an IT Cybersecurity Specialist (Network Services). You will be responsible for analyzing, installing, configuring, securing, testing, conducting quality assurance reviews, and implementing network systems used for the transmission of information in voice, data, and/or video formats.
As an IT Cybersecurity Specialist (Network Services) at the GS- 2210-13 level, some of your typical work assignments may include:
Analyzing and making recommendations regarding the design of a secure network architecture, and infrastructure in both on-premise and cloud native platforms and environments; installing, testing, maintaining, and upgrading components consistent with network architecture; configuring and optimizing local and wide area networking, TCP/IP, and web-based technologies.
Monitoring network traffic for unusual activity, potential threats, and vulnerabilities. Regularly analyzing logs and alert data to identify and mitigate security incidents.
Ensuring IT services and/or equipment are compliant and/or aligned to federal regulatory and department/agency policies during deployment and through the operational lifecycle.
Evaluating, designing, and implementing secure technology solutions for managing access to the network devices and agency data stored, processed and transmitted within the networking components utilized to support the USMS mission(s), and for encryption requirements of data and telecommunications lines.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-2210-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
Basic Requirement: You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: 1.Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2.Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3.Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4.Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Specialized Experience: must have at least one year (12 months) of full-time specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties: 1. Implementing IT enterprise architecture plans that address mission-critical Network tasks and objectives. 2. Assisting with managing and directing network and ITD projects consistent with industry standards. 3. Analyzing network requirements to develop IT solutions. 4.
