Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Welder ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common tasks including those of a welder such as: operating welding machines or manually welding piping, boilers, pressure vessels, castings, forgings, equipment, or structures, using gas or arc welding processes on recently developed or experimental metals and alloys. I have performed some related functions such as: flame and arc cutting. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
PHYSICAL EFFORTS: The effort required by this job is the same as that which is depicted in the standard as typical of all grade levels of the welding trade.
WORKING CONDITIONS: These are similar in this job to those described in the standard as typical for welding at all grade levels.
