The United States Space Force (USSF) at Pentagon, Arlington VA is searching for an Enterprise Architect for S1A (NH-2210-04, GS-14/15 equivalent).

Description:
Are you ready to serve as a technical visionary for the future of Human Capital systems for the U.S. Space Force? We are seeking an expert Enterprise Architect to act as a technical leader and strategic authority for the S1 Directorate of Human Capital Analysis & Systems. In this role, you will do more than just manage systems; you will translate strategic business goals into the definitive IT roadmap that impacts every Guardian. You will have direct oversight of large-scale programs, influence agency-wide initiatives, and provide authoritative recommendations to senior military and government leaders. This is a unique opportunity to build and guide the foundational architecture for the systems that support our most critical asset: our people. - Establish and mature the enterprise architecture practice for the S1, including defining modeling standards and conventions, guiding tool selection, and developing governance processes.
- Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture for various HR systems within the DoW, with a focus on Air Force HR, Air Force Reserve, and Fourth Estate HR systems.
- Utilize current architecture framework (DoDAF) to design, document, and communicate enterprise architecture frameworks and solutions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including HR, IT, and operations teams, to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Analyze and evaluate current HR systems and processes, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies for optimization.
- Provide expert guidance on the integration and interoperability of HR systems within the DoW.
- Ensure compliance with DoW policies, standards, and regulations related to HR systems and data management.
- Lead architecture reviews and assessments, providing recommendations for system enhancements and modernization efforts.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to enterprise architecture and HR systems

Ideal Candidate:
Qualifications: While a degree in a technical field is highly desirable, a proven track record of extensive experience in enterprise architecture may be substituted. The ideal candidate will demonstrate mastery of the concepts, principles, and practices required for this senior-level role. Experience developing and managing enterprise architecture for large-scale, complex organizations. Strong understanding of DoW policies, standards, and regulations. Proven track record of successful project management and implementation of enterprise architecture solutions. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Relevant certifications (e.g., DoDAF Certification, TOGAF, PMP) are a plus. Preferred Skills: Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies. Experience with cloud computing and virtualization technologies. Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices. Highly Desired: Experience with DoW/DAF human capital/HR systems (e.g., Air Force HR, DMDC, DFAS), business processes, and data.

  • Must be a U.S Citizen.
  • PCS and Incentives funding is available.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
  • May be required travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
  • May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
  • Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed "Unscheduled Telework"
  • Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 20 days per year.
  • This is a cybersecurity position; the employee will attain appropriate DoD approved cybersecurity baseline certificate(s) applicable for cybersecurity functions required for the DoD position.
  • Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment (IA Management Level II).

Qualifications

The 2210 series has an individual occupational requirement that must be met and can be viewed here. There is no Group Coverage Qualification Standard for this series.
