NSA is in search of Crypto Material Controllers to manage the receiving, storing, inventorying, packing, shipping, and destruction of communications security (COMSEC) material processed in National Security Systems. The selectee must have the ability to work effectively with staff personnel, and external elements at all levels, while maintaining strong organizational skills and multitasking in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment.

Help

As a Crypto Material Controller at NSA you will be responsible for the receiving, storing, inventorying, packing, shipping, and destruction of communications security (COMSEC) material. This position requires the ability to safely operate a forklift, pallet jack, stacker, and other material handling equipment.

Qualifications

The qualifications listed are the minimum acceptable to be considered for the position.

Degree in any field is acceptable.

Relevant experience must include one or more of the following: working in a COMSEC environment, working in a warehouse, a manufacturing or logistics field, administrative activities, data entry, customer service, or project planning.

Entry/Developmental
Entry is with a high school diploma or GED and no experience.

Full Performance
Entry is with a high school diploma or GED plus 4 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree plus 2 years of relevant experience.

Additional information

Pay: Salary offers are based on candidates' education level and years of experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager/organization regarding the work level for the position.

Salary Range: $35,048 - $91,815 (Entry/Developmental, Full Performance)
Salary range varies by location, work level, and relevant experience to the position.

Training will be provided based on the selectee's needs and experience.

Work Schedule: This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday, with basic 8hr/day work requirement between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. (flexible).

DCIPS Trial Period:
If selected for this position, you will be required to serve a two-year DCIPS trial period, unless you are a veterans' preference-eligible employee, in which case you are required to serve a one-year trial period. This trial period runs concurrently with your commitment to the position, if applicable. Before finalizing your appointment at the conclusion of your trial period, NSA will determine whether your continued employment advances the public interest. This decision will be based on factors such as your performance and conduct; the Agency's needs and interests; whether your continued employment would advance the Agency's organizational goals; and whether your continued employment would advance the efficiency of the Federal service.

Upon completion of your trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.

If you do not receive certification for continued employment, you should receive written notice prior to the end of your trial period that your employment will be terminated and the effective date of such termination.

- Use office computers and printers.
- Use office equipment other than computers and printers, such as copiers, scanners, and telecommunications equipment.
- Help or assist coworkers, subordinates, or other employees when needed.
- Condense and synthesize information quickly while working various actions in parallel.
- Provide customer service and possess strong oral/written communications skills.
- Be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.

The ideal candidate will reflect specialized skills and experience in the following areas:

SPECIALIZED TASKS AND SKILLS:
- Experience with COMSEC processes and equipment.
- Critical thinking, well organized, meticulous, and communicate well verbally and written.

COMSEC Accounting
- Maintain accountability and security for all COMSEC keys, equipment, and semiannual inventories. - Point of contact for all COMSEC related matters.

Classification Management
- Applying the requirements for handling, couriering, transporting, and safeguarding protected (e.g., FOIA/Privacy Act) and/or classified information.

Computer Operations
- Using computers and computer systems to accomplish work activities. Includes navigating the internet and common file systems within a computer network.

NSA/CSS Miss/Policies/Directs
- Applying NSA/CSS policies and directives.

Security Awareness
- Using policies, regulations, and procedures for securing facilities and protecting the security of personnel and information.

Warehouse Management
- A background in warehouse operations or experience in Property Accountability.

Tools
- Using Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Material Handling Equipment (forklift, pallet jack, stacker, and other material handling equipment).
