Duties

Help

Performs a variety of customer service, sales, and related functions at the Scott Air Force Base Information, Ticket, & Travel (ITT) Office. Greets patrons, provides requested information, and preforms over-the counter selling [sales] of tickets to Scott Air Force Base, surrounding area and key destination attraction locations and resale merchandise such as clothing, souvenirs, gifts, and other miscellaneous items. Assists with research and preparation of ticket contracts, tours and events. Operates a point-of-sale inventory system to complete and records sales and ticket inventory, make changes, and issue tickets and merchandise. Must ensure financial accounts are maintained and accounted for daily. Must ensure all consignment and inventory tickets are always accounted for. Assists with monthly and other periodic inventories of tickets and merchandise. Assists in management approved digital and social media campaigns. Accounts for cash and tickets daily, prepares cashier reports and corrects errors. Resolves customer concerns by directly contacting the vendor. Must submit required reports and documents in proper format in accordance with established procedures/timeframes. Orders and maintains inventory, keeps records of brochures, pamphlets, and other promotional materials. Assists with the training of new employees. Ensure all ticket confirmation and paperwork is recorded, filed and prepared for end-of- month inventories. Assist patrons in scheduling appointments and answer general questions in preparation for more in-depth assistance from Leisure Travel Services representatives. Provides accurate guidance/assistance to customers in a clear, concise, and professional manner. Demonstrates the ability and skill to exercise diplomacy and work courteously and cooperatively in interaction with co-workers and supervisors. Keeps displays current and appealing. Completes the required daily and weekly sanitation and cleaning of the office.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have responsible experience in clerical, office, cash handling, or retail sales work of any kind which demonstrates the ability to perform satisfactorily at the grade level of the position and effective time management. Must be able to account for all consignment and inventory tickets. Experience must demonstrate knowledge of proper cash handling procedures, the ability to resolve common arithmetic problems used when receiving payment from customer, and the ability to operate a cash register or point of sale system.

Education

This position does not allow for education substitution.
