Responsible for managing Youth Programs instructional program. Provides the base community with variety of classes to choose from. Class curriculum complements and/ or encourages participant's personal development through a variety of recreational activities/ programs such as education, career enhancement, character and leadership development, artistic ability, health and life skills, and sports and fitness. Coordinates all necessary requirements for instructional classes i.e. facility availability, equipment, supplies and safety/ fire requirements. Works closely with Marketing department to develop marketing plan to publicize classes and recruit students as well as instructors. Responsible for creating attractive media advertisements (radio, magazine, flyers) to entice participation. Prepares and routes for approval person services contracts. Monitor contracts to ensure instructors are in compliance with agreed terms. Initiates contract termination procedures for voided agreements. Coordinates background checks on all prospective instructors before they are hired in accordance with DAFI 34-144. Works closely with instructors to maximize class participation. Maintains class attendance records and submits monthly report of attendance to Youth Programs Director. Develops new programs/ events to effectively meet the needs of the base community. Conducts surveys to gauge interest for new classes. Works closely with the operations clerks to ensure payments, files and records are maintained and up to date with all required information as outlined in DAFI 34-144. Understands, prepares and executes NAF financial budget. Performs other duties as assigned. Works under the supervision of the Youth Programs Director.
